Description
The Bonanza Patio Peach Tree is recognized and appreciated for the profusion of pretty pink flowers that literally cover the branches on its dwarf stature…but what many folks want to know is does it produce edible fruit? The answer is yes! Unlike other dwarf peaches that produce not-so-tasty fruits, Bonanza produces full size peaches loaded with the same wonderful flavor of peaches you purchase at the grocery store or farmers market! But what we love most about this peach tree is that it only grows to about 5 to 6 feet tall and wide at maturity, which makes it perfect for growing in small garden spaces or in pots that can be situated on the patio – hence the name – where the showy flowers, the elongated tropical-like rich green foliage, and last but not least the attractive and tasty fruits can be enjoyed.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing only 5 to 6 feet tall and wide at maturity, the Bonanza Dwarf Peach Tree is ideal for use in smaller landscapes or garden spaces in the ground or in pots, planters and other containers thatcan be situated on the patio, deck or anywhere in the sunny landscape. A fine addition to fruit gardens, pink theme gardens and cottage gardens.
Note:Â Â For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6a, where this peach tree is not reliably winter hardy outdoors, you can enjoy it in containers that can be moved indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
The Bonanza Peach Tree prefers a consistently moist but well-drained soil of average or better fertility. That said, established plants are very drought tolerant. As with other fruit trees constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic. Will tolerate clay soil but we recommend amending with organic matter such as compost or a good planting mix. Prefers full to mostly sun however will tolerate some shade. We suggest 5 hours of direct sunlight per day for best flowering and fruit production.Â
Bonza Peach responds well to pruning for shaping purposes or to control size. A stray branch can be removed any time of year, however any heavy pruning to control size should be performed in late winter before new leaves emerge.

This tree was packaged carefully and had no damage. I planted it a few weeks ago in a sunny spot, but with afternoon shade in the summertime. I am just starting to see some new growth sprouting. The shipping was so fast on this tree, and it arrived in SUCH good condition. It had five baby peaches growing when it arrived. I may have shocked it by being a bit careless and allowing it outside when we were still in winter/frost threatening conditions. All five of the baby peaches fell off (even though I truly believe it was my naughty puppy testing limits) Anyway, this tree is SO happy on my patio in a big pot. Received my peach tree it was healthy and good size. I’m so happy with this purchase it was full of flowers when I received it and some of the flowers are falling off and I see the tiny peaches. There is literally 20 or more tiny peaches. I look forward to watching them grow and being able to try one this year. Thanks for the cute, healthy little tree.
